Thaliru Scholarship Exam 2025

Dear Parents,
The Thaliru Scholarship Exam is a project implemented by the Kerala State Institute of Children's Literature, Department of Culture, Govt. of Kerala, with the help of Department of Education. It encourages creative skills & reading among students in junior (classes 5th to 7th) and senior (8th to 10th) (two categories of clasess). The exam is conducted online at district level and in person at state level.

A scholarship of Rs. 1000/- is given to 50 students who get highest marks in each category (Junior/Senior) in district level exam (total scholarships for 100 children in a district). The students getting highest marks at the district level will be eligible to participate in the state level exam. A total of 14 lakh scholarships are distributed in the state every year.

The registration fee is Rs. 250, and registered children receive a one-year free subscription to Thaliru magazine.

Plus, free children literature books worth Rs. 1000 are given to schools with 100+ registrations.
